Welcome
The AppalSEED Academy is a year-long after-school science enrichment program for home school and public high school students in Northwestern North Carolina (African American, Hispanic and low-income students are encouraged to apply).
Students will participate in inter-disciplinary exploratory science projects from September through April, except on holidays. These activities will be led by a team of four scientists with established and productive research programs in Chemistry, Eco-toxicology, Microscopy and Biomedical Science and are designed to provide students with opportunities that will enhance their appreciation of investigative science that has local relevance and implications.
